Mana Whenua, Mātāwaka and Tāngata Moana-nui-a-Kiwa artists in Ōtepoti Dunedin contributed to nation-wide art protests in response to Cook commemorations happening in October and November 2019.
This art exhibition highlighted the impact of colonisation upon whānau, hapū and iwi Māori perpetuated by successive failures of governments to address and present the true history of New Zealand settlement and colonisation. The exhibition was located in multiple cities and towns during November. Each iteration was locally organised by artists of different disciplines collaborating together on this essential kaupapa.
The Ōtepoti Colynesian rōpū was proud to contribute to this kaupapa.
