During last years lockdown, the Brokerage launched artwork project, #DDBBubbles, putting out an open call for people to submit their lockdown artwork. Bubbles then popped up in suburbs across Ōtepoti: North East Valley, South Dunedin, and Port Chalmers.

Dunedin Dream Brokerage was proud to present: #DDBBubbles THE EXHIBITION

Showcasing the selected works and many of the submissions from our lockdown project, which ran from April - July 2020.

An installation showcasing the selected works as well as many of the submissions from the project. The event also celebrated the sponsors of the project and the 12 local businesses that hosted the artworks in their windows.

Inviting the community to submit their reflections on the lockdown period, asking:

  • Reflecting on your experience of 2020 lockdown, what do you think has changed?

  • Did you try a creative activity? If so, what?

  • Did you notice the bubbles in your neighbourhood?

About the project:
#DDBBubbles was a local pop-up project featuring the work of Dunedin artists, designers and writers in the windows of local shops during lockdown.
With the partnership of generous local organisations, Dunedin Dream Brokerage Bubbles connected the art community and local businesses, and asked us all to reflect on the ‘upside of the lockdown’. What connects us during this shared experience? What makes our neighbourhoods vibrant?
