An exhibition of filmed eco-somatic improvisations. Funded through the Dunedin City Council Ara Toi Arts grant, a core group of highly experienced dance artists, musicians and a videographer who filmed dance/ music responses to various iconic sites around Otepoti, including:
the early settlers’ cemetery,
Weller’s Rock whaling Station
Orokonui
The Botanic gardens.
The edited results were projected around the walls at 343 George st. Following an official exhibition opening on October 27 th at 5.30pm opened to the public during the day until Friday November 4th.
Artists included: James Risbey, John Irwin, Anna Noonan, Miriam Marler, Neza Jamnikar, Leila East Giles, Benedikte Onarheim-Smith, Leah Carrell, Ali East, Alan Starrat, Nicholas Prosser and karanga Moana Wesley.
The exhibition also presented (De) Framing the Romantic Nature of Subjectivity – video art works by James Risbey.
