Oshadha Perera
Oshadha Perera is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Ōtepoti Dunedin. His poetry and short stories have been recognised nationally and internationally, and his paintings and photographs have featured in exhibitions and publications, most recently in the Artstart Exhibition. His work explores environment, home, and family.
For his Locations of Interest residency, Oshadha will create a series of photographs paired with short-form poems under the theme Explore Your Backyard. The project invites viewers to notice the overlooked and quietly extraordinary spaces of Ōtepoti, capturing the city’s landscapes, textures, and atmospheres. Shared via social media, the work will also encourage the community to contribute their own images and poems, fostering creative engagement with the local environment.
