Resilience – 2020, a year of COVID - Dunedin Fringe Festival

A theatrical sneaky peek through a window to a family's journey across the levels of lockdown 2020.

Short and sweet, this 18 minute and 43 seconds pop-up physical theatre piece was set in a shop window. Audiences saw into a family lounge going through the 2020 COVID lockdown at speed - slowing down for poignant moments from the first announcement, the lockdown, bread making, boredom, homeschooling horrors, zooming, board game tantrums and the moments’ families came together in that surreal March - June period of 2020. Resilience revisits some of the highs and lows that we as a nation experienced by joining together to do something magical - build a barrier between COVID 19 and the people that it could easily take. It explores the gratitude and connection we all gained through our shared effort to save lives. Heartfelt and hopeful. Resilience through our shared experience.

Resilience – 2020, a year of COVID was part of the eight-month guerrilla art project Random Acts of Art or “RAA!”, created by Theatreworks & WOW! Productions Trust as a special community engagement response to COVID 19. Follow their ongoing programme here.
