The culmination of a six-month creative project as the Caroline Plummer Fellow at the University of Otago, This Cloud is Queering! saw choreographic artist Val Smith occupy George Street’s Underground Market for two weeks. The project explored the experience of queer, trans and gender diverse people in public space, through one-on-one walks with the public, conversations, community building experiments, workshops, research and performances. 

For Dunedin, this offered the public multiple ways to engage with new innovative forms of art, and new ways of digitally mapping people's experience of the Underground Market as a public space. The project also featured a roaming performance installation event on 19 June, with contributions by local performers and artists, including sound artist Eves, who returned from Melbourne to perform live.
