Spontaneous Rhombustion

Spontaneous Rhombustion is a unique interactive musical experience. A podium in front of the stage invites crowd members to step up and pick up the baton to direct the musicians. The musical rhombus will interpret and perform the directions, whether they be in the style of a classical conductor, a contemporary dancer or just some vague hand gestures or verbal commands. No one knows what will happen!

The rhombus consists of baritone saxophone played by Hamish Fyfe, baritone guitar played by Andrew Straight, drums played by Zac Nicholls and bass played by Christopher (Bugs) Miller.

Spontaneous Rhombustion capped off a series of pop-up performances around Ōtepoti, culminating in a finale show at The Crown Hotel featuring local acts Rhuemy and Richard Ley-Hamilton.
